Frenulectomy & Frenuloplasty

What is a frenulectomy or frenuloplasty?

Penile frenuloplasty, also referred to as frenulotomy or frenulectomy, is a surgical procedure that removes or reconstructs the frenulum of the penis. The frenulum is a small tissue band that connects the foreskin to the underside of the glans.

If the frenulum is too short or tight, it can cause discomfort during sexual activity or make it difficult to retract the foreskin.

Frenulectomy fees

We are committed to offering cost-effective frenulectomy services. Our procedure is performed using local anaesthesia and a penile nerve block, which helps reduce expenses by eliminating the need for an anaesthetist, anaesthetic medications, a hospital stay, and the use of a surgical theatre.
We charge $450 gap fees for Frenuloplasty

How is the procedure performed?

  1. Penile frenuloplasty is mainly performed for adults.
  2. The penis is thoroughly cleaned to ensure the surgical area is free of germs.
  3. A local anesthetic is injected at the base of the penis to block the sensation of pain in the area.
  4. The foreskin is retracted, and the penis is examined for any abnormalities.
  5. A small tunnel is created underneath the frenulum.
  6. Two sutures are applied to minimize bleeding.
  7. The frenulum is cut using diathermy, which also helps control bleeding.
  8. Absorbable sutures are used to align the skin, and they will naturally dissolve within 7-14 days.
  9. A dressing is applied to protect the area.

Pre-operation

Certainly! Here’s the content restructured into continuous text without a list format:

Please ensure that you apply the anesthetic cream at least 30 to 60 minutes before your procedure. After applying the cream, it is important to wrap the area with cling film to maintain effectiveness. For a more detailed demonstration on how to apply the cream and wrap the area, please watch the instructional video provided.

If you are undergoing the circumcision yourself, make sure to shave the pubic area thoroughly beforehand. This helps reduce the risk of infection, as pubic hair can increase this risk.

Additionally, remember to bring petroleum jelly (Vaseline) with you for post-procedure care. It’s also a good idea to have a smartphone handy to keep yourself distracted during the procedure.

Post-operation

Here is a rephrased version of the content with continuous text and a structured flow:

Within 24 Hours of the Operation:

You may remove the dressing after 24 hours. It is recommended to do this while showering. You can take a shower 24 hours after the procedure, but always ensure the surgical site remains clean.

In the Following Weeks:

The stitches are expected to dissolve and fall off within 7 to 14 days. Avoid lifting heavy objects and refraining from sexual activity for a period of 4 weeks. While bleeding is uncommon, a small blood stain on your dressing is normal. However, if the dressing becomes significantly wet with blood, please contact us immediately.

If you experience increased pain, swelling, or redness, reach out to our clinic. Note that some swelling is expected during the first 3 days. It is crucial to attend a review appointment 4 weeks after the surgery or sooner if you have any concerns.

For any concerns or urgent questions, please call or send a text message to our on-call doctor, who will get in touch with you.
